The Silver Lines is a free voice communication tool specifically designed for seniors who live alone, but it can be used by any group as a member support or help line service, providing information, friendship and advice. Churches and other religious organizations, community social service groups and other non-profit organizations are encouraged to set up Silver Line groups for their members. Group members who need some support, or just need to reach out to talk to someone to combat loneliness, can connect with Good Samaritans who are trained to provide help services to their group. In cases of abuse or neglect, with the callers’ permission, Silver Line Good Samaritans will direct to caller to the appropriate social services. The Silver Lines app can only be used in the United States but it is modeled after the successful Silver Line services provided in the United Kingdom, Scotland and Singapore.
